We recently posted an identity we produced for a restaurant called The Old Post Office. The same client took on another project and asked us to produce a new mark for the newly designed Gastro pub The Red Lion. We comissioned internationally renowned calligrapher Peter Horridge to illustrate the lion. The mane, reminiscent of steam, is culinary nod to home cooked tasty british classics!

The Architecture Foundation, Highly regarded for there work in contemporary architecture, urbanism and culture are approaching their 20th year. This milestone provoked a need for a new identity website, and home (now receiving it’s final lick of paint and designed by the fantastic Carmody Groake). As part of an initial 8 way pitch we won the commission just before Christmas and launched the site this week. Project also included a Bulletin broadsheet and signage for the new building.

One of the projects we do each year is the Yorkshire Artspace Residency Book. Being a bit partial to thread sewing, we made this one feel like it had been hand crafted by the artists themselves. Like each person had their own separate little booklet that they carefully stitched into the finished piece. We’ll also be giving Yorkshire Artspace a new identity and website in the near future so keep your eyes peeled…

I went to Paris this weekend to Warp Records first event to celebrate their 20th year – NYC, London, Berlin and the big one Sheffield New Yorkshire all to follow! Highlights of the weekend other than expensive beer (8 quid a pint!!!) and cheese and ham sandwiches were Chris Cunnigham’s re-edit of the Nuremberg Rally (yeah really!) and Star Wars, Aphex Twin (live), Plaid (live), Flying Lotus, Rustie, Hudson Mohawke, N.O.W and Chk Chk Chk Chk (live).
