Tonic

Not only do I design stuff I also DJ a bit under my nickname, Pipes. I’m well long in the tooth now but over the last 20 years I’ve crammed in loads of residencies, pirate radio, record labels, remixes, lots of late nights and travellin. Ocassionally I get together with my mates Chris Duckenfield and Toddla T to drink beer and do our long running Tonic Radio mixes.

This picture was taken last Friday at a night called Bigger Than Barry in Birmingham – I thought it was fitting to wear my Robert Crumb shirt with the message “caught in the grips of despair”. Sums me up really.

DOs and Don’ts

Just got these samples back from the signage people, who did away with our ‘o’! Other than that things are going really well just been appointed to re-brand The Architecture Foundation, finishing internal signage and a book about slides for Electric Works, and Pete is helping Warp to plan the Sheffield leg of their 20th anniversary. We’re branding a company that specialises in social networking websites, helping to develop ARC, doing a new residency book for the Yorkshire Artspace, more stuff for Nest, collaborating with a bunch of smart people on a childrens music book concept. One more thing – were also helping Kid Acne with his first solo gallery show. Credit Crunk!
